The Omaha Brass Armadillo is excited to announce a new restaurant had its official grand opening inside the mall. Poppin Pickles is a café serving sandwiches, soups, salads, and an assortment of snacks, drinks and of course, as indicated in their name, pickles. They also offer a variety of desserts as well as soft serve ice cream, malts, shakes, floats, sundaes and more.
Owners Matt and Staci Matsui started the Poppin Pickles name to sell their 25 plus flavors of homemade refrigerator pickles through farmers markets, trade shows, and other venues. The pickles are made from a modified 1800’s pickle recipe which is fitting for an antique mall. Their pickle relish made its debut in the 2017 College World Series at Nebraska Wienery. Their delicious pickles and relish are now available for purchase at the café. They plan to make one flavor of pickle every week. Make sure to ask for a free sample when you are in the mall.
Matt & Staci welcome feedback and suggestions. They also would love to have you share any old family recipes that might be something they could serve in the café. Like Poppin Pickles on Facebook @Flavorsthatpop.
Poppin Pickles Café is open six days a week from 11am-5pm with Wednesdays being by appointment only. Deliveries and catering are available and they will also have to-go menus soon. Call any time 402-681-9404.
