Guide: Polishing Brass

Antique brass should be polished and made shiny. Bronze should not! First, you need to know how to distinguish between those 2 metals before polishing brass antiques.

Brass tarnishes easily and is high maintenance, but the effort you put in will provide great satisfaction. The least labor-intensive brass polishing product that I’ve found is Mr. Metal, and it works as well as the others that require a lot of elbow grease.

The list of items made of brass is long and includes doorknobs, candlesticks, samovars, tea kettles, and many other common household implements.

Most sculptures are bronze but in this video, we polish a sculpture made of antique brass.
