This is a really neat, 1950, CECIL Hand Puppet from Beanie & Cecil, Mattel. It is in good shape but the purple mane has apparently transferred color to the green fabric (see photo).  I believe the voice box does work but that the string has broken and been re-tied too short so now you only hear the first part of the message. So if you can lengthen the string,the full message may play just fine.

This would be an awesome piece to have in your collection.
